Libraries Project (SEND co-production)

See project details in an easy read document here:

Project start date: October 2025

Project end date: Currently ongoing

About the project

The libraries manager wants to find out what young people know about libraries. They want to know:

  • what words would you use to describe a library?
  • what do you think libraries offer? For example, borrowing a book, place to study etc
  • what prevents you from visiting the library?
  • what can libraries offer to attract young people in?

The answers will improve the planning for future services and events across 糖心vlog Libraries.

Outputs

What we are doing and have done:

  • visits to events with children and young people to gather feedback
  • shared with Voices United Forum to gather feedback
  • microsoft form created for CYP contributions which has been shared on social media

Outcomes

The difference this makes to CYP:

  • this information will be used by libraries to improve their services and ensure libraries are accessible and used by a wider cohort of CYP

Impact

The difference this makes to policies, services and workforce:

  • the answers will improve the planning for future services and events across 糖心vlog Libraries

Making a difference

How we will know we are making a difference:

  • this information is being shared with library managers to inform their provision
  • the libraries will have ongoing discussions with CYP and co-production officers to review their services
