Enhanced Early Years Provisions
Enhanced Early Years Provisions are for children whose identified complex needs make it difficult to attend an early years provision.
Following the review of the Nursery Assessment Units, and the subsequent implementation of Enhanced Early Years provision in Worcester and Droitwich, 糖心vlog County Council (WCC)plan to commission suitable providers to deliver Enhanced Early Years Provision, in other areas of the County with the intention of enabling children and families to access their full Nursery Education Funded entitlement.
The outcome of the review and updates can be found on our website. We have used the findings to support the development of the Enhanced Early Years Provision (EEYP) Specification.
The Enhanced Early Years Provision (EEYP) will provide an important function for children with complex Special Education Needs (SEN) within the county. The intention is to deliver:
- enhanced provision for children whose identified complex needs make it difficult to attend mainstream early year provision(s) for their full NEF entitlement
- an enhanced provision that can support dual provision to enable children are accessing appropriate support in their local community
The places for children will be allocated via a monthly, multi-agency planning meeting for children with identified complex needs. The needs will have been identified through an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), or the children will have been identified via the Early Years Notification Process, and be known to a Health Professional or the Early Years Inclusion Team.
